The Christmas Shoes

It was almost Christmas time, there I stood in another line
Tryin’ to buy that last gift or two, not really in the Christmas mood
Standing right in front of me was a little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing ’round like little boys do
And in his hands he held a pair of shoes

His clothes were worn and old, he was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn’t believe what I heard him say

Chorus:
Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please
It’s Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there’s not much time
You see she’s been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight

He counted pennies for what seemed like years
Then the cashier said, “Son, there’s not enough here”
He searched his pockets frantically
Then he turned and he looked at me
He said Mama made Christmas good at our house
Though most years she just did without
Tell me Sir, what am I going to do,
Somehow I’ve got to buy her these Christmas shoes

So I laid the money down, I just had to help him out
I’ll never forget the look on his face when he said
Mama’s gonna look so great

Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please
It’s Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there’s not much time
You see she’s been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight

Bridge:
I knew I’d caught a glimpse of heaven’s love
As he thanked me and ran out
I knew that God had sent that little boy
To remind me just what Christmas is all about

Repeat Chorus

May the spirit of Christmas fill your heart and home!

    The Candy Cane
In Europe, they decorated their Christmas trees with white sugar candy sticks. A church official bent the ends to make it look like a shepherd’s crook. They were passed out at the services to children to keep them content during the services. It wasn’t until the 1900s that we put the stripes in the candy canes as we know them today.
    The Christmas Tree
In the 11th century, people decorated trees with red apples to symbolize the tree of Paradise. In the 15th century, people put the trees in their houses on December 24th, which was believed to be the feast day of Adam and Eve. Prince Albert set a Christmas tree up in 1841 and was so popular everyone began putting up their own trees. They were decorated with homemade items such as candy and cookies and garlands.

Ten Commandments for a Joyful Christmas

    1. Thou shalt not leave “Christ” out of Christmas, making it “Xmas.” To some, “X” is an unknown.
    2. Thou shalt prepare thy soul for Christmas. Spend not so much on gifts that thy soul is forgotten.
    3. Thou shalt not let Santa Claus replace Christ, thus robbing the day of its spiritual reality.
    4. Thou shalt not burden the shop girl, the mailman, and the merchant with complaints and demands.
    5. Thou shalt give thyself with thy gift. This will increase its value a hundredfold, and he who receiveth it shall treasure it forever.
    6. Thou shalt not value gifts received by their cost. Even the least expensive gift may signify love, and that is more priceless than silver and gold.
    7. Thou shalt not neglect the needy. Share thy blessings with many who will go hungry and cold unless thou art generous.
    8. Thou shalt not neglect thy church. Its services highlight the true meaning of the season.
    9. Thou shalt be as a little child. Not until thou has become in spirit as a little one art thou ready to enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
    10. Thou shalt give thy heart to Christ. Let Him be at the top of thy Christmas list.

I don’t have any particular plans made for the weekend, if im not lazy putting my tree up and just a little one now for not able to handle the big ones hehe..then i have to watch cartoons film for a couple of hours :) while hubby don’t like it., huh! don’t laugh, i luv it!
I hope that each of you had a super TGIF and will have an awesome weekend.

  • *To my awesome cyber friends*

It doesn’t matter what you wear
What you eat or what you
    weigh.

Who cares if your hair’s a total mess
    Or if you’re hundreds of
    miles away?

To see you in my contact list
    Whenever you’re
    online

Reminds me of how glad I am
    That you’re all friends of
    mine!

Whenever I need to rant or rave
    You’re always there for
    me,

You hear me out on everything
    And we so rarely
    disagree!

Whether there’s a problem to solve
    Or a funny story to
    tell,

Though we listen with our eyes,
    We understand each other so
    well.

We’ve got games right at our fingertips
    And funny greetings
    too,

    Whenever I’m at my computer,
    There’s ALWAYS! ! something to
    do!

So here’s to you, my cyber friends,
    You really are the
    best!!

You make the web sure feel like home
And for that I feel so
    blessed!
